Gospel illusion - or gospel magic - is a performance using magic to share the Christian faith. Gospel illusion can make a story more memorable, a message more meaningful, and creates an exciting opportunity to invite people in to church.
I love sharing magic with a message and story - this was what brought me to magic in the first place. I am an accomplished gospel illusionist, and have won the Creative Arts Award at Equip (formly the European Puppetry and Creative Ministries Festival) three years in a row (2019, 2022, 2023.) Since then, I've been invited to host and perform on both the Equip Festival stage, and for the Christian Magicians UK conference.
In 2022, I was accredited as a local preacher in the Methodist Church, and am highly requested by churches in my circuit (and beyond!) for my down to earth, accessible style of preaching. Of course, it helps that there's often a little magic sprinkled in each sermon too!
There are a number of ways to add a little magic to your church events, and I'm very happy to talk through the different options with you.
Sunday Morning Worship Magic is a great way to enhance a Sunday morning service and create a memorable message. As an accredited local preacher, I not only bring strong magic but a strong message to the service too.
Gospel Show Magic is also an exciting way to invite people into church who wouldn't come otherwise. With a longer, stand alone gospel show you can invite people from Alpha Courses, fellowship groups, or families projects such as Messy Church and toddler groups to come and see something unique without the pressure of being there on a Sunday morning. It's also a fantastic way to invite friends and family along too.
Fundraising Events Many churches have projects that they fundraise for, whether it's a new church roof, heating system, or a local cause or charity close to the heart of the church community. A fundraising magic show is an exciting way to sell tickets and make a large sum of money for your chosen cause.
